BEFORE
This roof suffered from general neglect and age. There were many slipped and missing slates, ridge tiles were displaced and unsafe. The hip irons had corroded and also the nails that held some of the tiles had also corroded. The valleys were blocked with mounting debris which made the flow of rain water after a downpour more difficult and caused further problems and leaks. Moss was also accumilating and there was also the potential for further problems with infestation. It was time for this roof to be repaired. Roofline commenced with the repairs after careful consultation and full detailed written estimate.

Rebedding of Hip Bonnets, nearing completion of process

One of the most common problems when it comes to Hip bonnets is that even if the bonnets tiles are still in good condition, it is nearly always the nails that suffer the most and corrode away to nothing. All bonnets are carefully removed, denailed and re-nailed and re-bedded back into position - enabling Roofline to provide a full 10 year Guarantee for this process.
To ensure longevity of your roof Hip Bonnets we only use 3 in 1 Mix comprising of 3 parts sand and 1 part cement with waterproofer added to the cement process to ensure a minimum 10 years life expectancy of the mortar.

TIP! Bear in mind there can be a point where continuing with repairs may not be cost effective as you may be better off directing monies towards new tiles, timber lathe and felt.
